Association EPOGINA has received a donation from the Pan African Sanctuary Alliance (PASA) to support the care and feeding of the gorillas of the Nkomi lagoon (Fernan-Vaz).
We are delighted to announce that PASA, the pan-African network that brings together primate care centres across the continent, has chosen to support Association EPOGINA. This donation is dedicated entirely to the welfare of the gorillas on the islands of Evengué and Oriquet: their daily food, their care and the monitoring of their health.
Feeding a group of gorillas every day takes constant effort. Fruit, leaves and supplements have to be bought, brought to the islands by boat and distributed by the field team, every day of the year. This support allows us to maintain that continuity in good conditions.
Beyond the financial help, this donation reflects the trust of a leading network in the work carried out on the Nkomi lagoon. PASA’s standards and experience are a valuable resource for a young association like ours.
“We warmly thank PASA for its trust and its loyalty to the gorillas of the Nkomi lagoon. This support comes at an important time for the Association,” says Virgile Manin, Founding President of Association EPOGINA.
You too can contribute to the welfare of the gorillas by making a donation on our website.
