It all began with a silence. The kind that follows bad news, when funding stops overnight and everything you have built suddenly seems at risk. In that moment, the gorilla sanctuary — our sanctuary — was in danger of fading away, little by little, for want of means. But some stories refuse to end that way.
Talking with a former manager of the site, a slightly mad idea came to us: what if we took over the running of the sanctuary ourselves? Not only to save it, but to help it grow — to open its doors to other species, to other stories, to a broader vision of animal protection.
That is how our NGO was born. First on the corner of a table, with a few notebooks, plenty of doubts, and even more conviction. We did not know whether it would work, but we knew we could not stand by and do nothing.
Since then, every step has counted. Every donation, every volunteer, every animal saved is a reminder of that first spark: a love of gorillas, respect for all living things, and the certainty that a small group of determined people really can change things.
Today, our mission reaches far beyond the original sanctuary. We work to protect, rehabilitate and give a second chance to every animal that crosses our path. It is no longer just a project — it is a commitment, a promise made to nature and to those who depend on it.
And all of it began, quite simply, with an idea born in the middle of the chaos: not to give up.
